TRIVIA: "Fleabag", the nickname of the central character, is also the nickname given to actress, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, by her family.

The television show is adapted from Phoebe Waller-Bridge's one-woman play of the same name. The award-winning play was performed in Edinburgh in 2013.

When writing Killing Eve, Phoebe Waller-Bridge said that it aided her to develop the characters of Fleabag and took notes for additional ideas for the characters.

One of many collaborations between Olivia Colman and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. They met on the set of The Iron Lady (2011) and performed together again in Noël Coward's stage play Hay Fever, and in the second series of Broadchurch (2013). After this, Waller-Bridge wrote the part of Godmother with Colman in mind.

When asked about a "Binge-Worthy Show", Jennifer Aniston answered "Fleabag".

Waller-Bridge won the British Academy Television Award for Best Female Comedy Performance for the first series in 2017, while the second series received eleven Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won six, including Outstanding Comedy Series, and Outstanding Lead Actress and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for Waller-Bridge, with additional acting nominations for Clifford, Colman, and guest stars Fiona Shaw and Kristin Scott Thomas
