JUST FINISHED WATCHING: PAM & TOMMY (2022)

Follows the story of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's relationship, going back to their whirlwind romance that started with them marrying after only knowing each other for 96 hours in 1995.

TRIVIA: In order to play Pamela Anderson, Lily James had to don multiple wigs, a prosthetic forehead piece, fake eyebrows, fake teeth, fake breasts, and blue contact lenses. The process took around 4 hours.

To prepare for the role of Tommy Lee, Sebastain Stan had to get keratin treatment for his hair, dye it black, and wear brown contact lenses, fake tattoos, nose ring, nipple rings, and a prosthetic animatronic penis.

Pamela Anderson did not give her approval nor her consent to the project and will not be profiting off the series.

Tommy Lee approved of the series being made and discussed it with Sebastian Stan.

Both Dave Franco and James Franco served as executive producers on the project, but the latter voluntarily had his name removed from the credits.

MY VERDICT: I found this show to be well made and well acted, but ultimately problematic. Isn’t it a bit hypocritical to make a program telling the story of the exploitation of a couple’s private tape without their permission or involvement? How would you feel about a show exploiting one of the worst times of your life? So I think for me these facts, which I discovered after watching, made me feel uneasy about watching it, I would have preferred if these great performances especially from Lily James, would be put maybe to better use?
