DAILY BLIND DRAWINGS: CINDY SHERMAN

DAILY BLIND DRAWINGS: CINDY SHERMAN

I have been drawing a blind drawing a day all this year. Mostly every week I take an inspiration point, usually a book or television show and draw from that. I particularly like to draw faces.

A blind drawing is a drawing that you make while only looking at the subject you’re drawing and without looking down at the paper. Most blind drawings are drawn with a single line as it’s easier to keep track of where you are on the paper – but not always.

Blind drawing is a useful technique for getting your creative juices flowing and it is great practice for not only drawing but for being freer with your art.

This week I have taken inspiration from the Cindy Sherman book: Cindy Sherman Hardcover Catalogue from The National Portrait Gallery.
