FILM 2058: TALES FROM THE CRYPT (1972)

TRIVIA: Stephen King and George A. Romero considered remaking this movie together. Their work together resulted in a completely separate, but similar movie, Creepshow (1982).

Robert Zemeckis said this is his favorite movie to watch on Halloween since it was released. He produced the HBO series Tales from the Crypt (1989), based on the comic book series.

The role of Mr. Grimsdyke was, at first, a tiny non-speaking role, but was greatly expanded when Peter Cushing took an interest in the role.

Only two stories in this movie, "Reflection of Death" and "Blind Alleys", originally appeared in EC Comics' "Tales from the Crypt". "...And All Through the House" appeared in "The Vault of Horror", and "Poetic Justice" and "Wish You Were Here" appeared in "The Haunt of Fear".

Despite being top-billed, and one of the six leads, Dame Joan Collins (Joanne Clayton) only has fifteen lines.

Jason's grand mansion house in the segment "Wish You Were Here" is the same house that featured as the London home of Gregory Peck and Lee Remick in "The Omen" several years later. It is Pyrford Court near Woking in Surrey.
