FILM 2309: PANDORUM (2009)

TRIVIA: Pandorum supposedly refers to Orbital Dysfunctional Syndrome. It is a psychotic break which takes place amongst ship's captains when they become convinced a mission is cursed, essentially a descent into madness brought on by the pressures of life in space impinging on an individual's sense of paranoia. This is a completely fictional condition.

'Pandorum' is the first film in a proposed trilogy, but it is doubtful the sequels will ever see the light of day due to the first film's low box-office performance.

Ben Foster insisted on eating live insects instead of using special F/X or dead ones.

Shot at Germany's Studio Babelsberg and in an abandoned power plant in Berlin.

The movie has gained a cult following over the years, fans have created a group on Facebook called "Fans for a Pandorum Sequel" in hopes of starting the franchise, director Christian Alvart and writer Travis Milloy have joined the group to their show support for a sequel.

ONE SENTENCE REVIEW: There’s a little more to this than your usual sci-fi but I can’t say that this film really kept my attention all the way through.
