TRIVIA: The role of Coral Chandler was originally intended for Rita Hayworth, but she had already been cast by her estranged husband, Orson Welles for the role of Elsa in The Lady from Shanghai (1947).
On the train, Bogart says he could go for a girl in a Sloppy Joe sweater. This term, also used for shirts, meant a very loose garment that looked as if it were one or two sizes too big.
ONE SENTENCE REVIEW: As a lover of noir this one wasn’t my favourite, but it was a watchable film and Bogart was pretty good.
