Mosaics can be so much more than decorative tiles. From the intricate designs of ancient Roman floors to bold contemporary street art, colourful animal motifs and wonderfully unusual works of art, mosaics have an incredible ability to transform the ordinary into something beautiful to look at.
In this post, I'm sharing with you the many different ways mosaics appear in art, architecture, interiors and everyday life. Think pastel pink, patterned bathroom tiles, shimmering gold designs, food-inspired creations, mosaic lettering and elaborate murals made from tiny pieces. Some are rooted in classic design, while others are playful, unexpected and completely unconventional.
Whether used to decorate a floor, brighten a wall, create a striking public artwork or turn an everyday object into something special, mosaics offer endless possibilities for creativity. This is a celebration of the colour, craftsmanship and imagination behind these fascinating designs.
