INSPIRATION: INTERIORS: A LIVING ART INSTALLATION

INSPIRATION: INTERIORS: A LIVING ART INSTALLATION

A gallery come museum come residence, this space has everything. Created by San Francisco–based artist Danielle Mourning this ever changing space is now viewable by the public. It’s got some over-the-top design but it’seasy to scale down some of these ideas and give inspiration to pieces in your own home such as;

  • Broken mirrors, or broken pieces used in artistic ways, you could scale this down by just creating something in a frame rather than using a whole wall but it’s very effective.

  • Layers of photos, or images or wallpaper.

  • Tassels, in any form they add a bit of drama or luxury. This image of the pink tassels dividing the door is the image that drew me into this space.

  • Bringing nature indoors.

  • You don’t have the decorate the whole wall with feathers, just one or two will do, if there big feathers you could put them in a vase or smaller ones in a glass.

  • I’m sure if you’re anything like me you’d love to have the space for a hammock inside.

  • Dramatic dark, image filled wall paper.

  • Fur coats (faux I’m sure) on the back of chairs in the dining room, well that’s a very unique idea if ever I saw one!

  • Circle based art (I love circles and curves, check out the post here…)

  • Is that a crystal light? What a great idea!

  • Gold stairs!

  • Wallpaper that looks like paint
