JUST FINISHED WATCHING: THE OUTSIDER (2020)

TRIVIA: In the novel, upon searching his computers and devices, the police note that Terry Maitland watches Ozark (2017) on Netflix. In the series, Terry Maitland is played by Jason Bateman, the star of that TV series.

Richard Price's 4th TV project with HBO, the previous three projects were The Wire(2002), The Night Of (2016), and The Deuce (2017). Only "The Night of..." never returned for a second season. Bill Camp also co-starred in that latter HBO series.

Bill Camp and Mare Winningham also acted together in the 2019 film Dark Waters.

MY VERDICT: I really enjoyed this series. It wasn’t what I was expecting at first. It’s sometimes hard to gauge what kind of Stephen King tale you will get when you go into a show cold. Don’t try to work it out as a traditional who-done-it is my opinion – (and the advice I was given while watching it with someone who had read the book) because it’s not something you will be able to work out – if you do I’ll be very impressed!
