JUST FINISHED WATCHING: FAKE (2024) 

Keddie plays a writer who meets rancher Wenham on a dating app. Thinking he's ideal, she commits to him, only to find he's misrepresented himself. She uncovers his lies.

MY VERDICT: I enjoyed watching this show, it was well shot and I loved the acting. It was just a little frustrating. It was certainly too long and it was oddly paced. I couldn’t believe this woman put up with so much and so many obvious lies and let-downs, especially so early in the relationship. I have experienced some of the traits of this man in a previous relationship but I don’t think the story built up a believable foundation on which the lies were to be believed. I’m obviously not blaming the woman at the centre of the story, but rather the way the story was told. The portrayal of the story is not realistic enough for all watchers to be on her side when she continues to put up with what is quite frankly nonsense behaviour.
